Bright Lights in Saigon

A Spring Night in Saigon. Early April is the hottest time of the year there. The lights of Saigon are bright in any season, of course.

Palmissimo

Homesick for South-East-Asia.

Lotus Stupa

Sometimes a stupa, symbol of enlightened mind self-arises. And sometimes it is helped along by Pema (Lotus).

Cay Saigon

A walk in the park.

Red Luminosity

Red. Why red? That’s what this series started with. Now it is (as anything we look at, really) a mirror. What do you see? Whatever it is, it is a reflection, a projection really, of your inner luminosity filtered by…well, maybe red. Maybe another color, notion, emotion, memory, or habit. Either way, you’re it.

Luminous Fragrance

The sheer abundance in color and fragrance is breathtaking. Sometimes literally. This year Enmempin decided to borrow some of that luminosity for his art. He sincerely wishes that return it many times over by whomever’s inspiration from looking at these.

A Friend

A good friend imagined. Glimpsed. Twelve times, a million different friends.

Just Seeing

Even with our eyes wide open we usually only see what our own mind’s busy monologue tells us to see. These eyes truly see. Which could also be called, ‘Just Seeing.’

Enmempin’s Spectacles

Every moment we create our world by perceiving and, for lack of a better word, interpreting that perception. Seeing is believing, indeed.

Perpetual Melody

They say you can’t bathe twice in the same river. Some Greek geek geezer. Not that Enmempin would want to bathe in this river. Or the next moment’s. But if you’re really quiet you can hear the melody. As ever-changing as the river.

Fractal Skies

Fractal Skies

A summer sunset like this fills the heart. Enmempin wished he could take this one with him to be nourished in November or February. Then he remembered that he could. And of course he had to share it with everyone so as to multiply the joy.

Be Like A Cloud

Be Like A Cloud

It is said that a cloud never dies. The nature of a cloud is water. Which never changes. The cloud’s water may become rain and in turn a brook, a stream, an ocean. Or a glass of refreshment. But the cloud’s nature never dies.

Myriad Light Offerings

Myriad Light Offerings

Auspicious Occasion: Light offering at the great Stupa of Boudhanath in Kathmandu. Each of the little withered Buddha statues at the bottom of the great cupola (way up on the top pedestal) receives a candle which is then lit.

Misty River Mystery

Misty River Mystery

A landscape that puts you straight into an ancient Vietnamese painting. Then, a painting that puts you straight back into that mysterious Vietnamese Landscape.

Vietnamese Bliss

Vietnamese Bliss

My best friend’s wedding had all the usual and some unusual trimmings. The traditional wedding album photo shoot at 35º in a park specifically created for this kind of thing was unforgettable.

New Year New Horizon

New Year New Horizon

A lofty 42 (sic!) floors above the bay of Nha Trang the New Year opens new horizons. Any year that starts out like that can surprise you. Well, any year can, for that matter.

Viattitude

Viattitude

Over sixty years after Dien Bien Phu. Coffee and old bicycles. And lots of attitude.
